Santa Pod may be the home of the World’s fastest, clinically prepared racing machines, but for the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of August they’re going to get down and dirty in the form of the Off Road Power show.

The Bedfordshire venue is hosting this inaugural event on and around its hallowed quarter mile, and is throwing open the doors to any vehicle that loves mud plugging and green laning - or anything that just runs tyres that are too big to get at your local Kwik Fit! Whether your 4x4 is fresh from the Camel Trophy, or just hot from the School run, this is the event for you!

As well as the usual mix of high speed quarter mile action all day, guests can run their own vehicle up the strip in Run What You Brung (RWYB) sessions to really see what’s what! Don’t worry, even if yours is stock and steady, you’ll still have a blast! For those looking to really tax their machines, the off-road course will challenge drivers and 4x4s alike in a test of skill and precision. All for just £10 an hour! There’s even a shorter, mud-covered RWYB for those that want to race in the dirt.. Just don’t get any on the strip tarmac, will you?

Polishing fanatics can enter the ‘Show and Shine’ - and for those looking for the very antithesis of these concourse competitions, why not get your truck as filthy as possible and enter the ‘Mud and Grime’ competition? Points (and prizes) will be awarded in just the same manner, and it’s so much easier to prepare for!

Don’t forget your OS maps, as there is also open access to several of the green lanes that surround the Santa Pod site, subject to ground conditions. Check on the web site as to which ones you’ll need.

If you’re feeling like a change, there’s also a huge cars for sale area, with the chance for you to find a new home for yours, or upgrade to something even nicer. Best of all, It’s completely free! Do bring your wallet though, as many of the UK’s top off-road traders and specialists will be on site all weekend to tempt you with their wares. Choose from new and shiny, or rummage in the Autojumble for that rare part or show bargain.

Making it a real family affair are the 270mph antics of the Fireforce Jet Car, Full evening entertainment and Djs, plus a weekend-long funfair. Best of all, all under 13s get in for FREE! 

Both individuals and clubs are very welcome. Clubs wishing to organise their own area should contact the ‘Pod prior to the event so that everybody can be accommodated.
